eMEN project selected as RegioStars finalist 2019!
On July 9th (2019) the eMEN project was selected as one of the finalists for the RegioStars Awards. This was done at an official ceremony at the headquarters (Berlaymont Building) of the European Commission.
The award was handed over by the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility, Marianne Thyssen, to the project lead partner Arq Foundation and the Interreg NWE program. Arq Foundation was represented by Oyono Vlijter (project leader) and Interreg NWE was presented by the program director, Ruut Louwers. Finalist are only selected if there project has a high level of excellence, innovation and transferable solutions. The eMEN project consortium is very proud of this achievement and also congratulates all other stakeholders which have supported this project.
The REGIOSTARS Awards are a yearly competition, organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy. It aims at identifying good practices in regional development and highlighting innovative, EU-funded projects, which could be attractive and inspiring to other regions and project managers. A total of 199 projects participated in this year’s competition (the highest number of projects so far). Of these 24 projects were selected as finalist by an independent high ranking academic jury.
eMEN is now participating in the RegioStars Public Choice Awards. The winner of this public choice award will be the finalist with the highest combined number of ‘likes’ and ‘votes’. The winner of this competition will receive a dedicated award at the ceremony on 9 October 2019.
